1. Couldn’t we save money by doing the trip on our own?
Forks Adventures does all the planning for you, including all scheduled activities. We provide transportation from downtown Seattle (or SEA TAC airport) when your journey begins and returning to downtown Seattle (or SEA TAC airport) at the end of your tour.
We provide the best lodging in the area and most meals. You will not pay for park entrance fees and on the longer tours, a ferry ride is included. You'll have a guide on forest hikes and you'll have time to explore beaches. You'll have the benefits of a professional tour manager from the beginning to end of your trip. If that's not enough, we even provide some snacks.

2. Should I purchase travel insurance?
Yes, it’s a good idea. An insurance policy protects you from illness, travel delays, lost luggage, and other unexpected situations. Although we do not sell travel insurance, we will provide you with a list of companies that do sell travel protection insurance.

3. Will I be able to eat vegetarian meals?
Yes, just let us know that you prefer vegetarian options when you fill out the information form.
|
 |
|
4. I will be traveling alone and would like to avoid paying the single supplement. Could you help me find a roommate?
We will try to pair you up with another “solo” traveler who is also looking for a roommate. If we are unable to find a roommate for you, the $50.00 per night single supplement will apply.

5. What physical condition does one need to be in to go on the daily hikes?
We'll walk at a relaxed pace for one to three hours a day. To enjoy your trip more, try to walk a few days each week during the two months before your Forks Adventures tour.

6. I would like to go on your tour, but I’m sixteen and my Mom and Dad cannot go with me. Is it ok for me to go with my girlfriend and her Mom?
Yes, as long as your parent signs the Minor Authorization Form (which we provide), appointing your friend’s Mom as your chaperone. The form will also need to be notarized.

7. What hiking gear will I need to bring?
The most important thing to bring is your adventuresome spirit. Definitely bring a pair of broken-in hiking shoes and a daypack to hold a water bottle, rain jacket, cap or hat with visor, sun glasses, and sun screen. We will provide trekking poles.

9. Why don't you offer a 1-day trip option from Seattle?
Forks is a remote, out-of-the way place. There are four routes, and we have not driven any of them under four hours. We like to take the most scenic route (also the longest) because of the wonderful places to stop off which make the trip memorable (leave Seattle at 9 am and arrive Forks between three and four in the afternoon). We receive many requests from those who just want to drive there, spend a couple of hours, and come back. The problem is, it is a tiring drive, sometimes behind logging trucks, always watching for deer running across the road, difficult to pass the vehicle in front of you, paying attention to the road signs, making sure you see the miles per hour signs which change OFTEN and with no warning. This is not a safe drive to do in one day, and we would definitely NOT recommend driving back after dark. If you are a Twilight fan, you no doubt want to go to La Push which is an additional 25 minutes from Forks (speed limit 35 mph and 45 mph, cops hiding out.) Please do not even think about doing this drive on your own, going to Forks and returning the same day. Of course it can be done. It's just not wise. If we can ever help you with a tour of at least two days, please let us know. We love the Olympic Peninsula, and love sharing our knowledge of this beautiful part of the world.
